  "The Beast" Vulcan bobber
Posted by: Thomsen - 06-09-2017, 05:37 PM - Forum: Gallery - Replies (4)

It's been a while since I posted anything here, but I figured I'd show off my latest build.
I sold my VN800 bobber last summer and started thinking about my next project. At first I was going for a VN900, but I really wanted to try something different. So I decided to go big..... really big!
I went and bought myself a VN2000.  Smile

I started taking it apart in July of last year, and my free time (which isn't a lot) in the garage. It was a challenge to get such a large bike look smaller, I can tell you that much!
Anyway, I'm almost there. Since the season is kind of short in Sweden where I live, I'll give it a rest for now, and the last few mods will have to wait for later. Right now I just wanna ride! Big Grin
So, I present to you, The Beast.

Hey all, not new to motorcycles (however, new to cruisers/bobbers) and of course this website. As I am building a complete frame off build and it will be a bobber, I like to have people that know those ropes well as I've only owned sport bikes and motorcross. Started riding at 6, learned to rebuild a carb at 7 by 10, the top half of a bikes motor.
Anyway, I really dig bobbers and I just can't get myself to buy a Harley even though my dad was a big Harley guy. I'm way deep into this build and getting ready to build my own exhaust, and at another website, all I got was a "if you don't use baffles, you'll piss off your neighbors."  Confused
I'm just finishing doing a hard tail conversion to my 97 VLX 600 & I am looking @ about 2k of parts powdercoating sitting on my garage floor, and more being added all the time.
Hoping I can hit ya all up for advice and thoughts as this is my first time to this rodeo. Seems like you guys are beyond the factory stock thing...

Ignition issue 2003 yamaha Roadstar 1700
Posted by: Maleko - 05-08-2017, 12:38 AM - Forum: Newbies & FAQ - Replies (1)

I have a 2003 Yamaha Roadstar warrior 1700. Last year I totaled the exact same bike and insurance reimbursed me to buy and build another.

On my last bike I had removed the majority of the electrical system. I put a makuni carb on the bike and did a dyna S system on it for the ignition system.

My question is now that I have done everything but the ignition system now. Supposedly there is no such thing as a dyna S ignition system for my bike now. I know there is a way to do this and I was hoping you guys might have an answer or know someone that does.

I appreciate any solutions anyone can offer.

Help me get this damn thing rolling!

I just want to say that every time I come on here to check things out there are a ton of random posts that have nothing to do with motorcycles and it makes me not want to come back. One dude is literally killing this forum. Its sad.
