Just figured i would post up my ride and say hello.

I'm on a Voodoo Vintage full mk6 frame, velocity frond end, rocking a seat by Pj Brown at Ranger Leather out of Houston. Powered by an 81 xs400.

Feel free to ask any questions about the bike.

  Swedish bobber fan saying hi!
Posted by: Thomsen - 06-02-2016, 05:18 PM - Forum: Newbies & FAQ - Replies (3)

Hey!

I just thougt I'd introduce myself.

The name is Fredrik Thomsen and I live in Åhus in the southern part of Sweden.
I've been customizing a few bikes in the last few years and I just can't get enough of it! As soon as one bike has been changed to my liking, I start thinking about the next project.
Anyway, I'm glad that I found this forum, because I think I will get tons of inspiration from you guys.

My latest project is a -96 Kawasaki VN 800 Classic that I bought from a friend.
It started out as a red & white stock bike with V & H pipes and a Mustang seat, and after I spent last winter rebuilding it it looks like this:

I'm looking forward to browsing through this forum to see what you guys have done with your bikes. See ya around!

  VSTAR 1100 bobber build
Posted by: JONNYB - 05-09-2016, 12:40 AM - Forum: Yamaha V-Star 1100 - Replies (10)

I this is my first time taking on a project like this so dont beat me up too bad.
I started with a stock VSTAR 1100 that i picked up for $1500 with 8,000 miles on it. I rode it for about a month until it got cold and started ripping it apart in november 2015.

after 7 months i finally got it together...just to strip it down for bodywork and paint.

For paint i did a rattle can job with dark metallic silver duplicolor on the tank and metallic black on the rear fender. Then cleared it with Spraymax 2k clear. (06MAY16)

This is where it currently sits, ill be finishing the wet sanding and polishing this week then start reassembly. Updates to follow.

Not really a build thread but my buddy popped by and finished his M50. He did a great job adding mesh to his stock air-filter. looks a lot better Modified.

Just getting my first bike on the road.  This started as a CB250.  Pretty much scrapped the frame except for the neck tube.  I've only got 20 miles on it since getting on the road.  It will still need some tweaks before paint/powder coating.

  First Bobber Build
Posted by: KustomCandy - 04-16-2016, 06:43 PM - Forum: Yamaha XS 650 - Replies (5)

Been Keen to build a Bike for awhile. Rode mostly Dirt. But have always had a Likeing for Custom Cycles. So here we go.

09 XVS650 Custom. Sourced thro a guy that picks up recovered insurance bikes and flips them. The Story go's: Was a Stolen and recovered Vehicle. Its been classed by our RTA the Bike can be re-registered, after a certified inspection station gives the clear that the bike isn't a Vehicle replated by thieves to sell on. For this I have to restore the bike back to its last registered state (Which I have little knowledge of) So back to Factory is the default.

SO.. Before I can do any Mods.. Including Colour change. I have to replace parts that have been missing, cut off or butcher'd during its theft. And so it go's.

Plans:
Colour change. Blue, green or white.. I'm unsure. Airbrush with Pinstriping, as thats what I do.
Tank change. Peanut or stock? Im liking the Peanut a whole lot. But stock has its place too..
Pipes.. Rust is showing thro on what I have.. Thinking of Fabbing my own. Chroming here is expensive.. So wrap.
J-slammed.
Rear fender Mods... Build my own. Shorty
Head light.. Hate the Ness looking shit their already!!
Solo seat.. Unsure which way I'll go. But I have a good idea.
Handle Bars.. Those stockies can hang in the back room. Have plans to fab my own. I predict Internal wiring is going to be a bitch. We'll see.

Easy hey... lol

Hey all. Names Dan.

Thought I'd check out the scene here, as our own bike site lacks the Bobber feel some.

From down Vic. Just picked up myself a V-Star 650 custom to get  my hands dirty on. First, Its needs its "Repairable write-off" title lifted. Been sourcing parts and such to appease the inspectors and Im almost done. Bobbing to come. I Airbrush and Pinstripe also, so I've been keen to put some special touch's on something to call it mine.

Hope to see the site grow.

Later..
