Fuel tank - Hellhound78 - 06-13-2018

I have a 1991 shadow 600. Bought it for $40 it was an attempted bobber project. They didn't get far. So I comolecomp disassembled it chopped on the frame a bit and am in the process of welding it back together then paint and reassemble. In the box o goodies I got with the bike there is no fuel tank. And idea where I can get one on the cheap or a suggestion of what might fit it with little modifications. I don't wanna get crazy with the fuel tank....seems above my pay grade lol. Any and all suggestions welcome thanks in advance

I would source one off of ebay. You can also check chopcult for any deals! I bought a sportster tank off of ebay for ~$60. Just needed to be lined and painted.

How difficult is it to mount a sportster tank on a metric bike? Sorry for the thread hijack but I am starting my first mod on a 750 shadow and am wanting to change the tank as well..I haven't been able to find any info on mounting after market tanks.

Thanks

That depends on how you want it to look. The shadow frame doesn't have your typical tube backbone. At least not that I've dealt with. So if you don't want to do a lot of cutting/frame work, the tank will sit high resting on the backbone versus sitting around the backbone.
